Sustainable Manufacturing

Manufacturing facility

At Procter & Gamble, our brands strive to be a force for good. In this spirit, our mission is to create products that enrich the lives of our consumers in every part of the world. One important way in which we fulfill this purpose is by caring for the planet we live in through sustainable sourcing and manufacturing solutions.

Sustainable manufacturing is defined as the creation of manufactured products through economically sound processes that minimize negative environmental impacts while conserving energy and natural resources. P&G is committed to this at every stage of the manufacturing process of our powerful products—from design through production and packaging.

For Cascade, achieving sustainable manufacturing means reducing energy and water use, cutting emissions from manufacturing processes, and reducing physical waste.

Manufacturing Efficiency

These practices start at our manufacturing plants. We aim to have our equipment running in the most energy-efficient way possible. This includes identifying, minimizing, and eliminating waste from the manufacturing process. In addition, whenever possible, we incorporate renewable energy sources that can help optimize our manufacturing processes. We continue to work toward powering all of our Home Care manufacturing plants with 100% renewable energy.

Sustainable Detergent

As part of our wide-ranging sustainability efforts, we continue advancing our product formulations to increase the family of offerings that combines safety, responsibility, and cleaning efficacy. Cascade Free & Clear dishwasher detergents deliver a classic Cascade clean and are free of chlorine bleach, dyes,* and phosphates. We are committed to research and development into detergents that are even friendlier for people and the planet by reducing environmental impacts while increasing energy and resource conservation, encouraging sustainable dishwashing.

Eco-Friendly Innovations

To call something eco-friendly generally means it doesn't harm the planet. At Cascade, our focus is on producing eco-friendly packaging made with 100% renewable or recyclable materials that have a low environmental impact.

Our Commitment to the Future

While Cascade is making great strides to meet our long-term environmental sustainability vision, our work isn’t finished. We will continue to drive innovation while reinforcing our commitment to sustainable sourcing in every phase of production. By reducing water consumption and energy use, we reduce our overall environmental impact and increase our sustainability. Our daily efforts to conserve resources will continue to make a difference.
